T-Mobile Announces the G1 Google Phone
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008Google and T-Mobile announced the release date of October 22nd. for the Google G1 phone. T-Mobile will have the G1 Google Phone available for $179 dollars.
Plan details include $25 with unlimited web & some text messages, and $35 with unlimited data and messaging. That is competitively priced against the iPhone 3G with unlimited data and some text at $30 a month, while unlimited data and messaging costing $50 each month. These plans however are still not as low as other devices such as the Sidekick.
The G1 has a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 (HVGA) resolution capacitive touchscreen, dual-band UMTS HSPA, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. There’s also a 3.2-megapixel fixed-focus camera, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, a flip-out full QWERTY keyboard, microSD slot (with a 1GB card provided and up to 8GB supported) and a trackball for navigation.
